PV and Giles in the mud.
Unfortunately the single-wingers were better mudders .
The two strangest that I was ever a part of was in 1980 when I played for Holston High School and we were beat 91-0 by Chilhowie. Last year officiating at Rural Retreat where Lebanon beat Rural Retreat 69-57. Wild one!!
1991. After Burton had to forfeit a couple of games, they were forced to move the location of the Region D finals to Appy. Coach John Cuzko stated that he didn't care were he had to play Appy, even if it was at the Gates of Hell. I can't believe I forgot about that one. Their was an stange feel in the air.
i never forget that game it was played at night because of the weather the field was awful.i think the field conditons really helped the dawgs. If the game had been played at norton i believe the raiders would have won.
Come on now. We had Kris Clark. The muddy field hindered his cutting and slashing. The final was 39-6. We were fired up and ready to reclaim our Region D title that we had lost to Norton the previous year. I agree that home field advantage helped, but it didn't decide the outcome.
